Gong Sound Baths

Deepsong Gong Baths

Alison Dhuanna -Gong baths Hebden Bridge Yorkshire

For thousands of years the Gong has been used for ceremonies and healing. It is a very special instrument as it induces Theta brainwaves. These are the brainwaves we experience just before entering deep sleep (Delta waves) and as we awaken. It usually takes years to attain this ability to meditate.

Participants can feel as if they are floating, have a powerful sense of being connected to the universe and have creative visions. Attended regularly, Gong Baths provide deep levels of relaxation, restore the nervous system and allow the body the perfect conditions to heal itself. The work of the Mathematician Hans Cousto has allowed Gong and tuning forks in recent years to be attuned to planetary frequencies.

The Deepsong Sacred Sound Gong Collective led by Kath Reade, have a wide range of Gongs.  Other instruments are also played such as shamanic drums, Koshi wind chimes and Tibetan bowls. Participants usually lie or sit on yoga mats with blankets and cushions during the Gong Bath.
